Who I Am?

Dr. Muhtamim was born, Dhaka, in the mid 80’s to a wealthy and aristocratic family hailing from the fertile district of Narshingdi. He grew up in Dhaka studying in Prestigious English Medium Schools where he completed his O’Levels from Sunnydale School and subsequently A’Levels from Dhanmondi Tutorial. Later he enrolled into MBBS course, in 2005/06 session under University of Dhaka at Bangladesh Medical College (BMC); the first private owned medical education facility in the country. He complete undergraduate from BMC in 2012 with outstanding results and completed internship later that year. In mid 2013 he joined Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital, Department of Neurosurgery as Resident Medical Officer (RMO), his first step towards achieving his desired zeal to be a Neurosurgeon. There he got the chance to work with renowned Neurosurgeon Dr. Md. Moshiur Rahman, who is a pioneer endoscopist and skull base surgeon in the country. Later in 2015, Dr. Muhtamim Chowdhury competed in the Post-graduation Course selection examination under the then Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), now known as Bangladesh Medical University (BMU). After a rigorous training of 5 years he successfully complete and achieved competency in MS (Neurosurgery) in 2020 and subsequently recognition from Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC) as registered specialist. During the COVID pandemic Dr. Muhtamim was intensely involved with government campaigns and rendered his services to the service of the country and is a COVID HERO. In mid 2020 he joined Enam Medical College Hospital (EMCH) as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery for 10 months before moving to Bangladesh Medical College Hospital (BMCH). Since then he is serving there for the last 3 years and participating in evening practise in one of the busiest private hospitals in Dhaka. In personal life he is married to Dr. Zakia Jabin Loskor an Aesthetic Dermatologist, with lovely twin daughters.
